
The ACCESS U YSF team are first-time Champions of the prestigious Surf Cup in the Boys U17 category. With a team composed of all Black and Hispanic high academic & low income players, the team won all five games, scoring 16 goals and not allowing any goals during the competition.
On the last day of games, the ACCESS U YSF team defeated Albion SC Hawaii 3-0 in the final after beating Santa Monica Surf, 5-0, in the semi-final played earlier in the day.
The 2021 Surf Cup is the perfect opportunity for these young players to showcase their talent in front of hundreds of scouts from the best college soccer programs in the country.
Since 2016, a representative team from ACCESS U Foundation and Yours in Soccer Foundation has been participating in the Surf Cup, a tournament that has represented the Best of the Best in youth soccer for over 30 years.
This achievement is an important breakthrough in the lives of the Black and Hispanic players that came together to succeed in this important tournament.
The exceptional result in the Surf Cup is the product of two organizations working to benefit underrepresented soccer communities in the U.S.
ACCESS U Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to inform underserved Hispanic & Black players and their families about collegiate athletic scholarship opportunities and the college recruiting process to help them achieve their educational goals. Since its launch, ACCESS U Foundation has supported more than 60 players in their college recruitment and mentorship process.
