ACCESS U’s work was recently featured in Los Angeles Times en Español by journalist Eduard Cauich, who highlighted how the program continues to transform lives by opening educational pathways through soccer. The article focuses on Aniya Williams, a Mexican U-20 national team player and future Stanford University student-athlete, whose story exemplifies the power of providing opportunities to talented youth from Black and Latino communities.
Cauich also highlights the story of Isabella Hoyuela, now a student at UC San Diego, who found in ACCESS U the guidance and support she needed to reignite her academic and athletic dreams after an injury. Both stories reflect the program’s mission and demonstrate that talent and perseverance can overcome financial barriers when truly inclusive spaces exist.
